Expression is one of the most important language skills. It is a goal we achieve with the help of several means, the most important of which are: reading, which provides the reader with linguistic material and various forms of knowledge and culture; and archives and texts, as they are a source of literary wealth. Grammar is a means of protecting the tongue and pen from errors; and spelling, which enables us to spell words correctly, thus enabling written expression to be understood. The importance of expression lies in its being one of the most important goals sought after in language study, as it is a means of communication and one aspect of the understanding process. It is also a means of communication that changes the individual, and a tool for strengthening intellectual and social bonds between individuals. The importance of expression for children is evident in the fact that their inability to express themselves has a significant impact on their failure, confusion, loss of self-confidence, and social and intellectual delay. Through this article, we aim to understand the purpose of expression, distinguish between its types, and its most important exercises in the primary stage.
