La négation en langue arabe constitue un système linguistique d’une remarquable richesse
morphosyntaxique et sémantique. En arabe classique, les particules
négatives lan, lam, lā, mā et laysa transcendent leur rôle de simples marqueurs de polarité pour
encoder des nuances temporelles, modales et aspectuelles complexes. Chaque particule se distingue par sa fonction spécifique : lan exprime une négation forte et irréversible du futur; lam marque la négation du passé avec un aspect inaccompli ; lā est utilisée pour des propositions génériques et des interdictions ; mā agit comme une négation polyvalente s’adaptant à différents contextes temporels ; enfin, laysa est employée dans les propositions nominales pour nier des états ou des qualités. Cette étude met en évidence comment ces outils négatifs reflètent les interactions entre morphologie, syntaxe et sémantique, et souligne leur capacité à enrichir l'expression
linguistique en arabe.
